"The large, dark eyes of horses are incredibly reflective. If you gaze into a horse's eyes, you realize you can see everything -- yourself, the sky, other horses. I have been fascinated with painting this phenomenon as a way of capturing the context of what a horse is truly feeling or thinking, and what their world is like at that moment in time."
It has been written that the eyes are the mirrors of the soul. I believe we have discovered that the eye works in two ways: not only does it enable us to bring images of the outside world within, it also shows images of what is within to the outside.
The eyes reveal the entire body of the horse - its level of health and healing!
It is a known fact that, except for the tongue, the eyes are the only 'inner' organs exposed to the outside world. Iridology is the science that scientifically and systematically decodes and interprets this complex eye structure revealing such information as: inherent strengths and weakness, chemical imbalances and deficiencies, and the location and level of toxins in the body of the horse.
Uniquely, through the iris of the eyes we are also able to monitor the reversal process, and actually observe the healing taking place throughout the body. Most important of all, through an eye analysis of your horse, we have immediate access to this valuable information through 'non-invasive' means -- in other words, without dyes, scopes, X-Rays, surgery or injection. Equine Iridology is simply a tool for guiding us to aid and assist the body of the horse toward a higher level of health through 'prevention and healing.'
Dr. Bernard Jensen, a world renowned American Iridologist, calls Iridology "the science of bringing light to dark places." Dr. Dena Eckerdt and I have worked on this same theory and applied it to the eyes of the horse. We believe that choosing the best 'life' for your horse means choosing the right nutrition, exercise and living conditions available.
