Liberty Dance horse trainer and international equine problem solver Farah DeJohnette's Ohana Farm is one of the only boutique boarding facilities to offer Self Selection on its supplemental menu and underscores the confidence Farah holds in a horse's ability to play an active role in the direction of its whole and natural wellbeing.
With similar encouragement for wellbeing in riders and owners, Farah and Ohana Farm will host a Fiona Paul Essential Oils & Energy Workshop, October 8-9, at her central Massachusetts facility in North Brookfield.
“This will be a rare, unique learning experience. Fiona is an amazing practitioner with a unique skill set not widely available. She combines modalities to offer her own approach to physical and emotional healing and feels we all possess the ability to do this work within ourselves. She is here to teach us her heart-centered approach,” Farah says.
The workshop will include how to use energy/essential oils to unblock and rebalance your horse; help physical restrictions and emotional behaviors; bring flow and flexibility; and how to deepen your horse/human partnership. Day One is an Introduction to Energy for your Equine, learning about energy, equine skin, heart coherence, energy centers on horses and humans, equine hand placements for maximum effect. The day will close with an essential oils demonstration by Fiona.
Day Two looks at Combinations of Energy and Essential Oils for your Equine, understanding the power of essential oils and their place in daily health, and Zoopharmacognosy or 'Self-Selection,' how it works, when it should be offered and what is/is not a positive response.
“Fiona will use four participants' horses to demonstrate combining energy and essential oils, unblocking and rebalancing energy, releasing physical restrictions and emotional behaviors, and bringing flow and flexibility. It will be an amazing weekend,” says Farah.
Workshop reservations start at $175 for the first day, $320 for both days (first day attendance required), $400.00 with horse (limited to four horses). Registration closes September 1.
About Farah DeJohnette Horsemanship
In 2015, the daughter of jazz legend Jack DeJohnette (John Coltrane, Miles Davis) became a YouTube star when a video surfaced of her improvisational jazz Liberty Dance performance with her horse Mercury, accompanied by her father's live music. Born in New York City and raised in Woodstock, she apprenticed at the Williamsburg Farm of Olympic champion Abdullah, worked for trainer Pat Jacobson, West Coast grand prix trainers Steve and Jenni Martin and seven-time dressage and show jumping Olympian John Winnett, and has benefited from the guidance of FEI dressage riders Virginia Leary and Bettina Drummond. Strongly influenced by the masters of natural horsemanship and Linda ('T-Touch') Tellington, Farah operates the holistic and Self-Selection boutique facility, Ohana Farm, while maintaining clients and clinics in the USA, United Kingdom, New Zealand and Australia.
