North Brookfield, MA (October 21, 2016) Partnering with Holistic Horse Magazine, Liberty Dance horse trainer and international equine problem solver Farah DeJohnette held a free, live two-hour online clinic September 11 that addressed strengths and weaknesses in two very different horses at liberty, in a distraction- and pressure-free setting that allowed viewers to watch real-time relationship-building unfold naturally and willingly.
As part of a unique social media campaign launched last February, Holistic Horse and Farah DeJohnette Horsemanship facebook pages offered their fans four choices in care or training topics to read about and interact with online: Self Selection (Zoopharmaconosy), Natural Outline, Liberty Fun!damentals and Riding Bitless.
The winning choice, Liberty Fun!damentals, looked at creating “training dances” with horses, as tools for developing balance, suppleness, tempo and a sustainable Natural Outline, while encouraging a horse's own creativity and mental engagement. (DeJohnette's own “dancing with horses” can be seen at http://fdhorsemanship.com/why-liberty/).
“The demo covered the integration of the technical and biomechanical work into the Liberty work,” explained DeJohnette to one UK-based follower. The virtual clinic, the first collaboration of its kind between Farah DeJohnette Horsemanship and Holistic Horse, drew more than 70 viewers. An archival link to the Liberty Fun!damentals sponsored by Holistic Horse Magazine clinic is available on YouTube.com at https://youtu.be/x3Fd0RP_Hil.
