Spring Fertilizing
Whether you have crops such as coastal, oats, corn, wheat, soy, etc., that are already growing, natural native pasture grasses, or you have just prepared the soil for planting a crop or vegetable garden, IT IS TIME for SPRING ORGANIC FERTILIZING!
Include:
1) Microbials to assist in nutrient absorption
2) Humate to add back trace minerals and other nutrients
3) Cold processed or hydrolysate FISH to fertilize Look for Turf Tea, a premixed version of all 3 and more.
Be on the LOOKOUT for annoying WEEDS! Some row crops like milo, corn and soy can be easily weeded using a field cultivator. Baled crops like coastal and oats are not planted in rows. Mustard seeds are commonly found in bulk seed oats which you unknowingly apply to your own field.
Roll up your sleeves and HAND PULL the mustard weeds before this little yellow flowering weed TAKES OVER! If you can't hand pull your weeds, you might try Smart World Organics Organic Weed & Feed. The weed killing ingredient is citric acid along with organic nitrogen. It is a broadleaf effective against dandelions, clovers and many weeds, but not grass.
Your long-term goal is HIGH NUTRIENT, CHEMICAL FREE soil to yield nutrient rich plants which in turn feed and NOURISH your horse. Here's to a healthy horse!
