Introducing the Big Black Boot™ by Ice Horse®.
There are lots of things that can cause laminitis: Obesity, toxemia, stress and trauma to name a few. While springtime is not a direct cause, it certainly invites horses and ponies to overindulge on lush new grass now growing in their once bare pastures. Unfortunately their unabashed exuberance over spring can often lead to a bad bout of laminitis.
Veterinarians universally agree that standing a horse in a cold stream or snow bank is a terrific way to try to combat laminitis. However, that is not always the most convenient or easy-to-use solution. Thank goodness for the Big Black Boot™ by Ice Horse®.
Available in two sizes to fit both horses and ponies, the Big Black Boot™ wraps soft packs of fluffy snow around the coronary band, compressing the hoof in an envelope of cold to provide soothing cool relief for over 2 hours. The frozen inserts are simple to use and do a great job of taking out the heat. An immediate re-application with a fresh set of Ice Horse inserts will keep the cooling continuous for up to two additional hours.
The ice inserts are reusable and will re-freeze in just 4 hours.
