After Rosalyn Berne fell off a horse and into a river in Costa Rica in 2012, her life changed dramatically. As she resumed riding, Rosalyn discovered she had an unexpected gift – the horse spoke to her. She had the ability to “hear” understand, and communicate directly with the horse. Inspired to share her unusual gift with others, Rosalyn wrote two books about her unique ability and she has a third in progress.
The first book, When the Horses Whisper, recounts her early experiences as an “equine empathy.” The book documents Rosalyn’s communication with 15 horses, most who live and work in Costa Rica. It describes how horses have the capacity to communicate with humans when the human-horse relationship is based on love. It is a testimony to the power of horses and equine healing work in transforming life’s losses into a deeper human wholeness and further communication with the non-human world.
Rosalyn’s second book and sequel, Waking to Beauty, is an autobiographical reflection that explores the extraordinary experiences that have shaped her lifelong journey to become an empathic intuitive. The book also recounts Rosalyn’s encounters with “Beauty,” a mare and “Juano,” a stallion.
A third book in the series is in production. For more information, visit www.rosalynberne.com.
