KATONAH, NEW YORK – The Right Horse Initiative is headed to Columbus, Ohio for Equine Affaire on April 11-14 with the Right Horse Roadshow. Bringing a branded truck and trailer full of games, activities and giveaways, the booth will be a checkpoint for attendees to learn about adoption.In conjunction with the Roadshow, Equine Affaire will be hosting The Right Horse Adoption Fair. Approximately 20 horses from six adoption organizations will be available for attendees to meet, ride and apply to adopt on the spot. The adoption fair will be held in the Gilligan Complex.“We love coming to Equine Affaire, and this year will be extra special with the adoption fair and Roadshow.

Thousands of people will have the opportunity to explore a new way of acquiring a horse – adoption!” stated Christy Counts, President of The Right Horse Initiative.The adoptable horses will be coming from The American Saddlebred Legacy Foundation, Kentucky Humane Society, New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program, Re-Ride Quarter Horse Adoption Program, Heart of Phoenix Equine Rescue and Copper Horse Crusade. The participating adoption organizations represent a wide variety of breeds and horses. Attendees can expect to see everything from off the track Thoroughbreds to ponies to American Quarter Horses. Visitors can apply for pre-approval to adopt and riders over the age of eighteen can try the horses they are interested in. In addition to the adoption fair, The Right Horse initiative will be hosting a booth with games and activities aimed at educating families and visitors about horses in transition.
