What’s next for Equestrian Businesswomen?
The Equestrian Businesswomen (EQBW) Summit was held on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at the Palm Beach County Convention Center in West Palm Beach, Florida. With over 200 women in attendance, the EQBW Summit provided thought-provoking and inspiring speakers including Tracey Noonan, CEO and Co-Founder of Wicked Good Cupcakes, Inc., paradressage rider Beatrice de Lavalette, who was the most critically injured survivor of the Brussels airport terrorist attack, and retired jockey and NBC Sports racing commentator and analyst, Donna Brothers, to name just a few.
The summit served as an excellent opportunity for networking amongst women who are currently in the horse industry across various disciplines or may be in a different industry but are connected through their love for horses. The event included a mix of speakers and panel discussions, which resulted in key themes that seemed to resonate with our speakers, panelists, and attendees, including:
- Challenges with work/life balance and finding time to prioritize your own needs
- Building a successful business and growing your company/team
- The role social media plays in developing your brand
- The evolving job opportunities within the horse industry beyond riding or training
For those who weren’t able to attend the event but would like to experience the incredible presentations and panel discussions, EQBW is still offering a digital ticket that provides videos of the majority of the day with bonus interviews from Tracey Noonan, Donna Brothers, Noel Asmar, Shona Rosenblum, Beatrice de Lavalette, and Bethany Lee. At the end of the event, EQBW CEO and Founder Jennifer Wood announced her plans to create a membership platform to continue the momentum from the event. Launching this spring, EQBW will create a digital community aimed at helping engage, support, and inform equestrian businesswomen through eLearning content created by industry experts on various topics from business management and how-to business tool tutorials to personal growth and development. In addition, the membership platform will offer more opportunities for networking – both online and offline – and collaboration amongst members and participating experts. For more information about both the Summit and the new membership platform, please visit www.EqBusinesswomen.com and follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
