Laura Gentile, founder of Guaranteed Horse Products, LLC, is committed to improving the world for horses and humans as the creator of the company’s line of all natural, nontoxic equine products. The company’s most notable product, Fly Bye Plus, is the only soy-based fly spray on the market today and uniquely works on a molecular level.

“I grew tired of toxic equine products that were expensive and just didn’t work,” explains Gentile, who has a degree in biology and used her science background to research natural alternatives to pesticide fly sprays. She focused on soy and hired a chemist to help put her theory to work. “We tried many iterations for efficacy and for durability.” In 2011, the company launched Fly Bye.
Several years later, in 2016, geranium oil was added to Fly Bye and a fourth generation, called Fly Bye Plus was launched. Specially formulated for flies, mosquitoes, gnats, and ticks, Fly Bye Plus enjoys a worldwide reputation with distribution across the United States, Canada, and Europe.
“All of our products are tested in barns instead of in labs and are 100 percent cruelty-free. This is a very important part of our company’s ethics. We want to see how effective our products are in real life conditions.” Products are given to horse owners for testing and actual feedback.
Another part of the company’s mission is the commitment to keeping things “green.” As an example, Guaranteed Horse Products provides Fly Bye Plus refill stations to tack shops. “Our bottles, sprayers and closures are all specialized for the equine environment and we want people to use them more than once. Simply go to a participating tack shop and refill your container for a healthy savings and be part of the green effort at the same time,” says Gentile.
